SC Boudoir Photographer – Rebecca

The minute she opened the door to her hotel room, Rebecca’s vibrance and vitality hit me.

When you first meet Rebecca, you immediately notice her gorgeous hazel eyes. Then you immediately notice, after talking to her for 10 seconds or less, that she is bursting with love. Love for her life. Love for her son. Love for her amazing fiancé . Love for me, even though we had just met. Rebecca is someone that inspires you to live – and love – a little more fiercely than you did before you met her.

She found me and booked her session all the way from Afghanistan, while she was serving her country and risking her life to protect mine. As we talked, she told me about some of her experiences, and her eyes turned green during some of the sad parts, then lit up to a sparkling deep gold the minute we started talking of her son and fiancé. She is a woman who is extremely generous, and in love with the possibilities the future holds.

Rebecca, I can’t think you enough for allowing me to be a part of your welcome home. I only hope these photos do a small justice to your beauty and the friendship we began that day. I’m looking forward to shooting your amazing wedding in Puerto Rico in the summer!

A few weeks ago, I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Melissa to take her boudoir photos. The thing about Melissa is that the minute you meet her, you are hit with a huge, genuine smile and fresh, open personality. I’d like to say we became friends the minute we met! I had so much taking her photos in a beautiful bed and breakfast in downtown Columbia – the setting was so unique and beyond vintage! We had so much fun just being surrounded by the beautiful decorations and pieces of history. Melissa – thank you so much for letting me be your photographer (and thank you for the delicious chocolates!)!!! I’m so happy for you and your special man, and I hope we get to see each other soon!

This girl is G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S! I know I always say this, but it doesn’t make it any less true, and I’ve got the photos to prove it! Kate and I had so much fun at her boudoir session a few weeks ago. We listened to music, talked about everything, and laughed. A LOT. :) Her deep blue eyes are piercing with personality, and I have no idea how anyone can resist that beautiful smile! I’m designing her gorgeous boudoir album as we speak, and can’t wait to send it off to the printers.

Columbia, SC Boudoir Photographer – Spring

I’m a little late in posting this session, mostly because I’ve been slammed with work lately – which is AWESOME! Spring and I had so much fun with our session! She is so gorgeous, and we hit it off marvelously. This girl is so unbelievably beautiful and vivacious. She is so much fun to be around. We had so many laughs and smiles the whole session, I didn’t want to leave! I’m so happy to have a job where my clients become my friends!

I am so lucky to have such BEAUTIFUL clients! Lisa contacted me for a boudoir session to celebrate her husband’s birthday, and we met up at the Sheraton downtown (my favorite Columbia hotel) for some swanky, upscale boudoir photos! This girl is soooooooooooooo (to many o’s? heheh) gorgeous! She has thick, beautiful hair, almond-shaped eyes, and a killer smile! A photographer’s DREAM! We had so much fun and tons of laughs throughout the afternoon! She was kind enough to give me permission to show some of her gorgeous photos on the blog – thank you!

I would kill for hair as beautiful and thick as hers – so pretty!!!

I am IN LOVE with this doll’s photo shoot! We decided to have her boudoir shoot at her home because she wanted to get some outdoor shots in her awesome backyard. She is so sweet and bubbly, and we found so many things we had in common right away! This girl is soooo beautiful! I just LOVE her smile, and she has the most gorgeous skin, milky with a gazillion freckles! Her green eyes and strawberry blonde hair added in the mix make for a bombshell of a lady!

Featured! on the Boudoir Divas Referral Site!

I am so excited to tell you all that I’ve been selected as one of the Boudoir Divas‘ referred photographers!! I am super-psyched, because these girls are definitely leaders in the industry, and are committed to spreading boudoir as a way for women to celebrate their beauty! I was chosen after The Boudoir Divas personally reviewed my website and boudoir portfolio! (I do have to admit that it is definitely thanks to my gorgeous, amazing clients, too!!!)

Only a select number of photographers were invited to join their referral list, so being invited at all was an honor, and being accepted was even more awesome! There are thousands of women and photographers who visit their website in hopes of finding a boudoir photographer, but since they’re all the way in San Diego, CA, not everyone can fly out there for the visit. That’s where I come in. When someone who is interested in The Boudoir Divas would like to know who they trust for quality boudoir photography in South Carolina, they just visit the Boudoir International website and choose South Carolina – then they would choose me!

I am currently the only photographer on the list for Columbia and Charleston, SC, and I’m listed for Greenville, too!

SC Certified Professional Photographer

I am always a girl on a mission. The mission often varies, depending on the day, season, focus, weather, etc, but I always have a mission and goal for some part of my life. Many times, I have multiple missions going on at one time.

My newest goal is to gain the nationally-recognized title of Certified Professional Photographer. This certification is judged by masters of photography who have been practicing it their entire lives, and is provided by the Photographer’s Association of America (PPA). There are thousands of photographers out there, and it seems that many people think that just by picking up a camera and pressing a button, they’re a professional photographer.

The digital era has made it much easier for inexperienced part-time and fly-by-night photographers to throw their hat into the ring, undercutting professionals with rock bottom prices. Certification is an easy way to help consumers understand and appreciate your level of experience and talent.

I spend hours every day researching photography – technical aspects, techniques, artistic styles, marketing, products, gear, etc. I know by looking at my photography over the years, that I have grown and continue to grow as a photographer because of my passion and dedication to the art. I have loved photography my entire life – this isn’t a hobby I picked up and realized I enjoyed. But how do my potential clients know this at a glance?

By becoming certified as a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP), I am showing my potential clients that I have met high standards and can provide quality work, both artistically and technically. This is SO important!

As the leading certifying agency for imaging professionals, the Professional Photographic Certification program is recognized throughout the industry.Those who have earned the Professional Photographic Certification have passed a comprehensive written exam measuring their technical expertise, and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval.

To quote directly from their website, “ Certification is granted by the Professional Photographic Certification Commission, an objective third party who validates your expertise, and that speaks volumes to potential clients about your skill. When potential clients become aware that Certified Photographers must re-certify every five years, they understand that education, training, and the latest industry techniques and skills are important to you – and your images.”

As of today, there are only 18 Certified Professional Photographers in South Carolina! Amazing! If you do a Google Search, or worse, a Facebook search, you will find hundreds, probably even thousands, of “professional” photographers throughout the state of South Carolina, but none of them have gone through the trials, judging, tests, and certification process to receive the credentials to become a Certified Professional Photographer.

I plan to be number 19! I am always committed to providing the highest level of quality in all forms to my clients, and I feel this is a natural part of the process. I want my clients to feel confident and proud that they have hired me as their photographer. Not only will they get gorgeous images to share with their family forever, but they also will have someone dedicated to both artistic and technical excellence in all of their images!

….but I’ve been super busy!!! I’m sorry for disappearing off the blog for the past few weeks! I’ve had several boudoir shoots which I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited about, and I’ve been editing photos, designing their super luxurious albums, and getting them ready for delivery. My most recent boudoir shoot was at the Sheraton in downtown Columbia, and I’m in love with them. I can’t wait to share some of them with you! (With my client’s permission, of course!) We also extended our wood flooring into the office, and I completely reorganized my workspace – it’s so clean and open now – I love it! It’s so nice to go and work in there now.

I know a lot of people don’t understand the concept behind boudoir shoots, but I am happy to be one of the few photographers in my area that offers quality images in this genre. It’s a wonderful, empowering experience that is always fun and confidence-boosting! It’s also one of the most special gifts you can give your man! My images are sensual and tasteful, with a sexy, playful feel. It’s about feeling beautiful and sexy in your own skin, and looking your best the way you are right now. It’s a very pampering experience that is tons of fun!

I’m lucky to work with my awesome clients, and to be able to give them these images!

Speaking of images, stay tuned to the blog for tons of images coming up of the albums I designed, at least one new boudoir shoot peek, some more from Hawaii (the Pearl Harbor photographs are overwhelming me right now), Ellie’s baby shoot (she’s coming to visit soon!), Michelle’s maternity shoot (another visit!), and more! If you know me, I tend to find a way to always stay busy, which is both a blessing and a curse sometimes.

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I had a great time Friday night at the Sandy Puc 2010 Family Tour conference! It was held at the Radisson Hotel Columbia & Conference Center, and lasted from 4pm to 10:30pm. There was a trade show, where several vendors had displays up, and I was able to begin my partnership with my new framing company! That’s right! You can order prints directly from me, professionally mounted, matted and framed right out of the door. As you surely have gathered by now, I find it EXTREMELY important that your photographs are displayed in your home, not just kept on a CD or DVD, or hidden in a box in the closet. We are all guilty of it! I have many pictures from years ago that I have to catch up on scanning and displaying properly, so I know exactly how life gets in the way! However, I make it a point to frame and hang up my special pictures whenever I have a chance, and I order canvases as much as I can.

I labeled this post Boudoir Monday because I wanted to show you all the latest boudoir session with Michelle! Michelle’s sensuality definitely comes out in front of the camera, and this session proves what I say all the time, that your expression and pose matter more than your clothing (or lack thereof) in a boudoir session. I am here to guide you through both the posing and expressions, and to make sure you are completely comfortable the entire time! Everyone is at least a little nervous before their boudoir session, but by the end of the session, we are relaxed, smiling, and having so much fun! I can also tell you that these photos are the best and most memorable gift you can ever give your boyfriend or husband! He will LOVE a boudoir album and cherish it forever! No matter what reservations you have about your body, he loves it!

I have definitely found a passion in boudoir photography. Don’t get me wrong – I love ALL photography. It’s the way I express myself. I go into withdrawal if I’m not able to take photographs! There is something about boudoir photography that makes me feel wonderful, because I am helping to show other women how beautiful they truly are. You don’t have to be Megan Fox to look amazing in a photo shoot. I can provide the lighting, posing, coaching, and retouching skills necessary to make your photographs ready for Maxim magazine! The great thing about boudoir photography is that it celebrates your curves. It’s sensual, but classy and tasteful at the same time. It’s not about being a size 0. It’s about your confidence and attitude about yourself in front of the camera, and I’m here to make sure it’s the best experience possible! I’ve already done a few shoots with some amazing, gorgeous, sexy women, and I’m super excited about the shoots I’ve got scheduled these next few months. If you’re planning on scheduling one of these shoots, please remember that they look best when displayed in an gorgeous album for your special man to flip through when he misses you. It’s definitely a present he will never forget, and will always cherish!
