SC Wedding Photographer – Aidan and Michael are Engaged!

He proposed to her in the middle of the parking lot of Urgent Care, right after she had been diagnosed with pneumonia. Michael had been planning this day for a while, until Aidan got sick and had to be taken to the doctor. Sitting in the car with her prescriptions, prepared for a long day full of tissues and medicine, Aidan had no idea this day would change her life. Michael looked at her when she was at her most vulnerable and knew he had to be there to take care of her – forever.

I had the most wonderful time photographing Aidan and Michael’s engagement session on a bright Sunday morning. The love between Michael and Aidan is so visible and so beautiful. It’s the way Michael makes funny faces to make Aidan laugh. It’s the way Aidan looks at Michael and always has a smile on her face. It’s the way they respect each other.

I am so blessed and thankful to have met you guys! I’m looking forward to more fun at your bridal session, Aidan, and I can’t wait to shoot your amazing, gorgeous wedding!

Heather + Jake: Greenville, SC Engagement Photos

The story of Jake’s proposal to Heather is adorable – but she’ll probably tell you it was maddening.

After dating for a little over 2 years, Heather and Jake started realizing they couldn’t live without each other, and started thinking about marriage. Heather even started planning a wedding before the proposal! Jake wanted to surprise Heather, so he started hinting that maybe they would have to wait. He secretly snuck away to the jewelry store and bought a GORGEOUS ring for Heather (you’ll see closeups in the wedding photos!), and waited for the right time to propose to her. He held onto that ring for weeks, all the while knowing she was the girl for him. Forever. One day, on a quiet day at home, Jake popped the question. And after all that talk about having to wait, Heather finally realized this was the moment – and Jake wanted to see the look on her face as he surprised her.

Heather and Jake – I had tons of fun capturing your love for each other in your engagement photos. I was warned ahead of time that Jake was not fond of photos or PDA – the two elements that are CRITICAL to an engagement session! However, I think he’s a natural in front of the camera, and his love for Heather outweighed any apprehension. Heather is SOOO photogenic! She really knows how to grab that camera with her eyes! They both look amazing!

I can’t wait for your wedding – thank you so much for letting me document your love during this special time in your lives together.

Heather and Jake are both huge fans of nature, and love to hike and be a part of the environment. Such a beautiful landscape is perfect for their engagement photos!

I love how much fun they have together! Jake may appear serious, but he has a great sense of humor, and Heather is a girl after my own heart – she loves to laugh and be silly, and that’s my perfect client!

Heather – you’re killing me – you’re gorgeous!

I don’t know if I mentioned Heather’s UH-MAZING, piercing blue eyes. I had to stop and grab a shot of them in the sunshine to show you how awesome they are! I didn’t alter the color of her eyes at all!

I can’t believe I’m getting married in less than two months! It’s going to be so much fun! I’m really excited about everything, and I’ve been scrambling to get things done! I just finished my registry today at Bed Bath & Beyond, and I can’t believe how long that took me! I was hoping that Home Depot and Lowe’s would have a registry option, because I would LOVE new hardwood floors for the house, but they don’t. It doesn’t stop me from looking, though!

Seriously, though, I didn’t realize how much of my kitchenware was old and used-up, and I thought about all the things I say “I’m gonna have to get one of…” and slapped that on my registry, too. I didn’t want to get anything frivolous or unnecessary. It became fun after I got into it, but it sure was frustrating to start! I kept getting overwhelmed. I’m not used to picking all of that stuff out at once! I usually pick up something here and there when shopping at Ross Stores!

Anyway, I feel like I’m getting a lot done, but there’s so much left to do!! I’ve picked out my flowers, and one of my bridesmaids, Kim, is helping me to check on pricing for the floral arrangements. I’ve picked out a hairstyle that I think will work with my face, and I have a trial run on Feb 20th. I have my invitations sent out, and I’m already getting the RSVPs back in the mail. My dress has been purchased, my bridesmaids have their dresses, and we have the tuxedos picked out and waiting for fittings. I bought Otman’s wedding ring last week. I’ve been drinking nothing but water and unsweetened tea, and I’ve been huffing and puffing with Jillian Michaels on TV.

Soooo…. I need to get the flowers arranged, meet with the cake lady, get our marriage license, find someone to marry us, create a song list, figure out the decorations, order favors…. get all of Otman’s guys on track for their tuxedo, sigh.

There’s a lot left, but I have no doubt it’ll get done and everything will be gorgeous! I am so excited to have everyone there. It’s going to be so wonderful.

Robert & Crystal – Engagement Session

I was fortunate enough to meet Robert, Crystal, and Robert’s mother Allison for their engagement session last week! I will be photographing their wedding on December 12th, and it’s going to be beautiful! Here are a few shots from the engagement shoot at Falls Park. Aren’t they an absolutely gorgeous couple?
