In my parents’ house, there are bookshelves filled with albums that hold precious memories of my childhood. There are boxes filled with thousands of slides that tell the narrative of my parents’ love for each other, the life they lived before I came along, and the moments of my childhood that are amazing and defining that I can’t even remember. I am able to treasure these moments because of these saved images that have been kept throughout the years. I even have pictures that show me that my dad looked just like a young Elvis Presley once, and that my mom and my sister looked exactly the same at five years old! These are not photos that were taken on yearly trips to a studio, standing stiff in front of a fake background. These are authentic moments in life. Real moments spent with loved ones that were beautiful and inspired a photographic moment.
This is what I strive to achieve in my photography. Of course, you have to schedule your portrait experience with me, but I want to capture authentic interactions between you and the people you love. I want to capture that laugh on your baby’s face as you tickle his belly. If the photo session is just you, me and the camera, it’s going to be all about capturing who you are, and showing your amazing personality and beauty. We’re going to put you in beautiful light in an awesome location and have fun. I love photographing special events, such as birthday parties, family outings, fun events, etc. It’s all about memories that can be cherished. I am here to capture more than just an image. I’m here to honor and celebrate the love you have for each other, and capture it. When you look at the photos I take, you should not only love the image, you should treasure the memory that accompanies it.
The photographs I have from my parents, friends, family and of course the ones I took myself, along with my other writing and artwork are truly the only material things that really, truly matter to me. Everything else can be replaced.

TOP: March 1974 My mother was washing her hair. She turned around, saw my dad with the camera, and screamed. He got this shot. CLASSIC.
It’s because I know and feel the importance of photos like these that makes photography such a personal passion. I truly feel I was meant to capture these important and irreplaceable moments for the future for others who feel the same way. To me, photographs of adorable children and photographs showing the excitement of a new engagement aren’t just cute snapshots for the album. They are an exhilarating heirloom for your children’s children.
